Not sure what to do? This section will give you a brief run down to get you started with everything you need to know.
This guide is also available in Zipped PDF format (164k) and there is a useful pre-war map also available (113k).
Once Cholo has loaded, you will be in Robot Inventory mode.
In the view screen, you will see a spinning RAT droid, the only robot under control at this point.
Ignore the rest of the menu mode displays for now and press the select robot key (default is Page Up) or the Return to Game button to gain control of the RAT droid.
The RAT DROID starts inside the Central Computer building, just off Bridge Street, facing the entrance. By using the MAIN ROBOT control keys {defaults are WASD and the mouse} you can move the RAT droid around the building.
Using the map below, locate the CYBER I computer terminal. You'll notice that the readouts on the front indicate that it is unlocked - this means it has already been hacked and any droid can interface with it.

By exploring the city of CHOLO you will find computer terminals that contain varying types of RAMPAKS. These range from robot upgrades to key game information and dare we say it Red Herrings.

To interface with CYBER I simply bump into it. The Hacking Terminal appears.
Key:
By default you will see your Rat droid. Press button 2 [A] to view CYBER I. Notice this has a RamPak [C] installed in one of its four slots. Click it to load and view its contents [B]. In this case it is a text file called PWORD1.TXT
We can save this RamPak in to the Rat droid for retrieval later.
To do this press button 1 [A] and click any one of the empty RamPak slots [C] to install it.
You'll find this password file quite useful as you explore the city. If you want to delete it, just click the (X) icon that sits next to the RamPak slot.
You are not going to be able to get very far with the capabilities of the Rat droid alone. You will need to capture other droids so that you can utilise their special abilities. The first one is not too far away!
Leave the Hacking Terminal if you have not done so already (press the Page Up key or the Return to Game button).
Using the map above, find the exit and leave the building.
To your left you will see a droid approach, this has hacking abilities and will allow you to gain access to computer terminals found elsewhere in the city. You will need this robot on your side!
The RAT droid has a laser, essential for disabling other robots. Shoot the Hacker droid until it shows it is paralysed.
Careful not to destroy it though as a few more hits may blow it up!
While the Hacker droid is paralysed you can attempt to interface with it. Bump into it with you RAT droid. A password screen will appear.
To take control of the Hacker droid enter the correct password, this is where the Password RamPak you found might come in handy.
You'll have to find the right password for each droid, but the more observant might see a subtle clue on this page as to what password can be used for the Hacker droid.
You get three attempts to hack a robot before you get booted out.
Get the password correct and you will now have full control of that droid.
Notice that the terminal screen you are viewing now is the same Hacking Terminal as you used for CYBER I.
While connected to another droid you can transfer RamPaks in exactly the same way as you did with CYBER I.
Use the 1 and 2 buttons [A] to change between your two droids.
From the Rat's RamPak [C] click on PWORD1.TXT file to view it [B].
Now click on 2 [A] to change to the Hacker droid and click an empty RamPak slot [C] to install it.
This RamPak is not likely to be a great use for your Hacker droid, but you may find other RamPaks that improve the abilities of each robot.
You are still in control of the RAT droid. Leave the Hacking Terminal (Page Up key or Return to Game button).
There are two methods to switch control to one of your captured droids.
The first is to use the Robot Inventory terminal (press the Page Up key) which resembles the Hacking Terminal. The difference is the robot selection buttons [A] will cycle through all of the droids you control.
The second is to use the Function keys while in the game which can be a faster method of switching droids. The Hacker's function key is F3, this is shown on the Robot Inventory screen next to the droids name.
You now have everything you need to begin your quest in the city of Cholo.

Good luck, Jared.
